Social media campaign for nonprofit On Purpose

A series of Instagram and Linked reels featuring the On Purpose community, with the aim of adding personality to the organisation’s channels.

The Challenge

On Purpose is a nonprofit organisation based in London, Paris and Berlin. It’s one-year leadership programme is for professionals wanting to get into social enterprise to transform the economy from profit to purpose. On Purpose recruited me on a 3-month contract to provide marketing support ahead of its recruitment campaign, and they wanted to explore how they could reach their online audiences through video.

The Approach

I worked with the On Purpose team to devise a content plan to bring out the personality of the organisation on Instagram, and to feature their associates, trainers, fellows and office team in videos. From this content plan, we created the following content blocks:

  • Light hearted interview content, interview compilations on themes such as ‘What does purpose mean to you?’ and left or right challenges
  • A series of films with the associates taking on sustainability challenges
  • Short, comical videos to promote the recruitment webinars 

I filmed these videos on Fridays when staff and associates were in the building, and edited them on the following Monday so they were ready for being published.

The Data

The Instagram page saw a rise in views and followers, and the recruitment campaign saw a record number of applicants, with many submissions referring to the On Purpose social media channels in their application.
